FAMILY MAIN RULES
AFTER EACH FEATURE MOD LITE & MODIFY WILL BE WEIGHED
1. You may use 125 or 270 Microsprint chassis or custom built is acceptable.
2. Karts shall have a maximum width of 52" outside to outside.
3. Length of kart bumper to bumper should be 96".
4. Karts shave have front and rear bumpers 8" from the ground and have hoop round with two (2) bars horizontal and vertical. Nerf bars on both side 4" maximum from end of bar to tire, this prevents a tire from getting into another karts' wheel base.
5. No sharp edges on outer pieces of karts.
6. Karts should have padding on all areas where body or limbs make contact.
7. Full roll cage is a MUST - and be reinforced to provide good protection in a roll over. Roll bar must be 3" above driver's helmet and wider than the drivers shoulders. Cage shall be constructed from a minimum of 3/4" EMT conduit or equivalent.
8. Acceptable materials are 1/2" Black Iron, 3/4" EMT or .063 electric Weld Tubing. All edges are to be rounded and double tubes required.
9. All kart parts must be constructed from materials that will not break or shatter upon impact. (NO glass, plastic, plexi-glass, etc.)
10. Karts must have a 4 point harness. A 5 point harness is recommended.
11. Helmets must be D.O.T. approved. Must wear neck collar, gloves, long pants, long sleeved shirt, shoes and socks.
12. Motors can be side mount or rear mount and jack shafts are acceptable.
13. All Hurricane Karts are pump gas ONLY.
14. Need to put zip tie on your spark plug for a quick disconnect.
15. All karts must have chain guard.
16. All flywheels must have scatter shield.
17. Exhaust Silencers #RLVB91MO or RLVB91XL 1-5/16" must be used and cannot be altered in any way..
18. Numbers must be 8" tall on both sides of kart. No metallic unless outlined with solid color. (examples: Black on white - Red on white)
19. Any driver caught going fast in pits will shut kart off and push it - SO GO SLOW!!
20. Arm restraints must be worn by any driver 17 years of age and younger.
21. Anyone caught illegal will have ONE (1) week to be fixed and teched again before next race. 2nd time will lose all points and pay a $50.00 fine. 3rd time you will be suspended for the remainder of the season.
22. Dial indicator and degree wheel will be available at track if anyone needs to use them.
23. Fire Extinguishers required in ALL pits.
24. Must have four (4) races in to qualify for Mid-Season Championship and four (4) races (which Mid-Season can count as one) prior to End-Of-Season to qualify for trophies. All trophies will be handed out after the race.
25. Any driver change or kart change must to to end of line up. Must tell score keeper.
26. Brakes will be checked at pit entrance each time before going on track. NO brakes NO racing until fixed.
27. Tech will be Random.
28. Protesting: You have 15 minutes after the race to protest and only in your class that you are racing. You will need to fill out the form, which can be found at the Tech man's trailer or at the sign in booth. Then returned to the Tech Man. Amount will be announced at a later time.
Classes and Ages:
Novice Class - 5 to 8 years old with a 6 hp or 6 1/2 hp - NO Weight Rule
Jr Class - 9 to 15 years old with 13 hp - NO Weight Rule
Adults - 16 years old moves up to adults, 14 years old with 2 years experience.

2011 MODIFY HURRICANES
1. Motor shall be GX 390 or Equivalent.
2. Open Bores
3. Minimum weight for Kart and Driver will be 580 lbs. Will be weighed after EACH FEATURE
4. Aluminum fly wheel is acceptable.
5. ALL fly wheels must have scatter shields.
6. No Strokers
7. Front tires will be a minimum of 12" in diameter.
2011 MOD LITE HURRICANES
1. Motor shall be GX 390 Honda single cylinder or Equivalent.
2. No modifications to the carburetor (21.5 mm Maximum bore), Can remove governor, 20 thousands maximum over bore and stock style pistons.
3. Plain head 100 thousands / maximum stock head thickness 3.742 from valve cover base to head.
4. No lightening of flywheel. Must have scatter shields.
5. Can replace connecting rod with billet rod.
6. Reinforced GX 390 Rockers - 1 to 1 ratio.
7. Side cover solid dowels, stud kit, SS valves, standard size - 32 lb valve springs.
8. Stock cam shaft and stock carburetor - air filter open.
9. Any size exhaust, but must have 1 of 2 silencers (the numbers are in the Family Rules)
10. Cam shaft not to exceed 5 degree variance. Stock cam - no grinding, twisting, welding.
11. Minimum weight for Kart and Driver will be 580 lbs. Will be weighed after EACH FEATURE
12. Front tires will be a minimum of 12" in diameter.

2011 BOX STOCK HURRICANES
1. Motor shall be 13 HP Blue Max Clone Motor.
2. Can remove governor and cut crank.
3. No aluminum fly wheel - must remain box stock. Must have scatter shield.
4. Minimum of 12" in diameter on Front tires and the Right rear tire will say 18" on the tire.
5. Clutch gear will be 10 tooth (Noram), Axle gear will be 60 tooth.
6. any driver who thinks another has a faster or illegal motor can buy that motor for $200.00 recoil or $267.00 for electric start. Motor will be teched at end of race. That motor cannot leave track without being tech.
7. NO Weight Rule.
